You support students, parents, staff and the board...

Who supports you?

You got into this field to leave your mark on the next generation-- and you love it. Your brain is on 24/7 thinking about your students, your staff, their outcomes and their safety. You wouldn’t have it any other way.  But nothing could have prepared you for the post COVID world facing an AI tsunami, a youth mental health crisis and demanding parents’ angry emails.

You’re the one carrying this burden alone — and if you’re unable to shore up the load-bearing pillars of your leadership, you will inevitably crack.

Principals often struggle to focus on their own development. That’s why I created Keystone Leadership's Principals’ Coaching Cohort program.

Join us, and let's get you the support, resources and tools to help you be the leader who handles it all.

All schools need strong leadership (that our principals provide). And yet…

According to the RAND Corporation's annual State of the American Teachersurvey, 53% of K-12 teachers nationally report feeling burned out — “down from 60% in 2024, but still meaning more than half of teachers are operating in a state of serious exhaustion.”

A survey by the National Association of Secondary School Principals found that 1/3 of principals are thinking of leaving the profession, with most identifying the teacher shortage and increased workload as issues of extreme concern.

Meet the Keystone Coaching Cohort Program

As part of the Keystone Coaching Cohort Program, you’ll get:

  • Curriculum based on four pillars of expert, self, people and operational leadership.

  • A facilitated mastermind group of fellow school administrators who provide peer coaching, support and guidance. This mastermind group will meet for five 90-minute meetings October - March.

  • Semimonthly, 1:1 coaching dedicated to developing your leadership capacity for the entire school year.

  • A library of resources that supports the curriculum.

  • A toolkit of frameworks to help your team work better together, help you evolve your leadership presence, have better conversations and manage change.

With these tools and frameworks you’ll be better able to stay grounded in your strengths and values, making it easier to lead your team effectively and increasing your capacity to support your school’s outcomes.

This program is designed to help leaders be the pillar of strength they need to be for their school. Based on Keystone Leadership Advisors Four Pillars of Leadership, this program gives school administrators the scaffolding they need to focus on their own leadership development in the midst of the constant chaos that is education administration.

I'm Susan Drucker Hunsaker, Principal and Founder of Keystone Leadership Advisors— as a lifelong educator who once taught high school students how to draw and see the world in new ways, I now do the same with adults in a leadership context. Both types of teaching come down to how we see and experience the world, and I'm here today to help you think about your leadership journey differently. After more than 1,000 hours coaching business, civic and nonprofit leaders through their challenges and opportunities, I've learned that meaningful leadership development requires building with an intentional eye towards capacity and a thoughtful selection of tools.

Bottom line? You’re the leader people are relying on.

You’re the load-bearing wall in your organization. And as such, you have a responsibility to fortify your capacity to lead. Without it, you will crack. Your relationships will falter. The culture of your school will suffer.

It is absolutely mission-critical that you develop the intellectual humility, interpersonal courage and relational influence required to lead a complex, ever-changing organization.

And I'd truly love to help you get there.

  • At this stage in my leadership journey, I was looking for a thought partner to help me better understand my leadership style and navigate the complexities of school leadership. Coaching with Susan has provided a supportive space for deep reflection. Her thoughtful questions have helped me gain clarity and approach the many facets of my work with greater intention. Our discussions of practical leadership frameworks have been invaluable in preparing for and facilitating difficult but important conversations. Each session leaves me energized, with new insights, practical strategies, and a desire to continue learning and growing.
